Digit to put the hood pins in. Long story. Hood came up and smashed the cowl. I am thinking of options to fix this mishap. It's not a daily driver. I never use the wipers anyways. I deleted the HVAC. I am thinking of installing a solid panel. I really don't see extensive body work being done.

The story is that my truck broke down. I used my car to go get stuff out of the truck and totally forgot to put the pins in. It was 1am and I was tired and stressed. Normally I never leave it without the pins in but damnit I slipped. :(

Ouch ! I had my stock hood flew up when I was rushing to get my trans swap and clutch properly adjusted at 1am and didn't double check was all the way shut  (It gave me an excuse to get a fiberglass hood) As for the body work I had my dad pull it since he does body work a living and he said it didn't take him to long to pull everything straight , although if you go with a solid panel I can't see it being bad at all.

FYI, in just about any state i've ever been in, it's actually illegal to not have wipers on a car. Might never matter, but it's something to think about. When i had my coupe's out of state registration done here in KY, i only had one wiper arm on because the guy who painted it somehow lost the other one, and they wouldn't pass the inspection. I had to hit up a junkyard and get another arm.

happened to me as well....sigh...i tuned up my car, then went for a drive to see how it ran. well, i had hood pins, and i didnt bother to secure them because i was just going around the block...but i hit the gas, and there goes the hood dammit! a cervinis 4" cowl hood down the crapper along with my wiper cowl and front windshield...i have pics somewhere.
