Digit to put the hood pins in. Long story. Hood came up and smashed the cowl. I am thinking of options to fix this mishap. It's not a daily driver. I never use the wipers anyways. I deleted the HVAC. I am thinking of installing a solid panel. I really don't see extensive body work being done.

The story is that my truck broke down. I used my car to go get stuff out of the truck and totally forgot to put the pins in. It was 1am and I was tired and stressed. Normally I never leave it without the pins in but damnit I slipped.

That sucks man sorry to hear that. I've got a set of FRPP pins waiting to go on. I don't want to be another victim.

Ouch ! I had my stock hood flew up when I was rushing to get my trans swap and clutch properly adjusted at 1am and didn't double check was all the way shut (It gave me an excuse to get a fiberglass hood) As for the body work I had my dad pull it since he does body work a living and he said it didn't take him to long to pull everything straight , although if you go with a solid panel I can't see it being bad at all.

How bad? Try a deflated football under the smashed part then inflate. See how much it comes back.

FYI, in just about any state i've ever been in, it's actually illegal to not have wipers on a car. Might never matter, but it's something to think about. When i had my coupe's out of state registration done here in KY, i only had one wiper arm on because the guy who painted it somehow lost the other one, and they wouldn't pass the inspection. I had to hit up a junkyard and get another arm.
