Hey, I was driving my 95 GT today when all of the sudden my check engine light came on!! I stopped at the next red light and it went off. As I took off again, getting to about 25 MPH the light came on again!! This happened all the way home from work.

Stopped = no light
Moving = light

Endless Ciycle
?????????????????????????????

I don't know if the check engine light coming on and off qualifies as a big problem. Now maybe if you punched it and heard a loud explosion followed by smoke, then you have a BIG problem. Like others said, pull the codes and don't panic, I am assuming everything was still running fine since you didn't mention anything about it not, so its probably something small. There are a million and one sensors that could have caused the light to come on.

I've had this happen to my 95 Cobra before. According to the Service Manual, if the CEL comes on and goes out, there was an intermittent problem and it corrected itself. However, if the CEL light blinks rapidly it states to pull over immediately. But to be sure just pull the codes as mentioned above. By the way did you do any work or installed parts just before this happended. Peace

You could go to a parts store, pick up a code scanner, and see what codes you are pulling.

I can see that you are new to the car and stuff. First a check engine light isnt a BIG PROBLEM!! Also now would be a good time to invest in a good code reader. It will prove its worth over and over again as you continue to mod your car.
