I got the Fiore/Reichard racing billet quad, and adjuster. Well, i go to put the quad on, and it comes with 2 plastic spacers, but there is still a bunch of room that the quad can move back and forth on the rods. Has anyone had this problem before? Is this normal? Is the quad just supposed to "float"?

Thanks

Once you put a little load on the cable, the quadrant should stay where you set it initially.

So is it basically a self centering design?

every stang has that problem with aftermarket quadrant. i bought one for my 03 cobra and had that problem. what you do is buy a pack of 1/2 inch washers and stack them on till its snug against the cotter pin. problem solved! i did that with the cobra. i did not do it with my 5.0 becuase it was such a pain in the ass gettin he quadrant on in the first place and cut my big handup in the process so i dint get that far, i will however get back under the dash and do the same eventually. m not in a big hurry though becuase like already mentioned it doesnt move with the cable slightly slacked anyway
