black box on 88 gt 5 speed 5.0 ho

it is near the computer ,about five or six wires go into a clip and a black and i think brown colared box plugs into it, looks like it comes out of the wiring harness. does anyone know what it is and what it does? '

the one in my car keeps making a loud buzzing noise when i turn the key and the car gets no spark, could this be the problem?

That is your EEC relay. It should have a base # of 12A646 stamped on it and be 1/2 brown and 1/2 black in color. Yes it will stop the car from running.

No EEC relay will keep the car from starting (in about 10 ways).

Good luck.

Sorry. You need a working EEC relay for the car to run.
