So in prep'ing to soon put the Explorer intake on my rebuilt motor.... I notice the heater tube wouldn't screw into the intake, looks like a tread is buggerd up on the tube and on the intake, so I ordered a replace tube, and got a 1/2 -14 npt tape and clean up the threads in the intake, so I did a test fit, and screws the new heater tube into the intake with no issue.
my ? is, I notice that you can pull the tube in and out a little of the nut it's self... and it will do the same when I have it screwed into the intake. So, is this normal, and what keeps it from leaking? does it have a internal o-ring or something?
