Black stangs with cowl and mirrors painted black?

Im thinking about doing this....anyone else out there that has it already? Pics? Thoughts?

And for those of you that have done it with other colors, what prep do you do on the plastic? Do you sand it smooth? Just clean it real well?

I dont think it would look right w/ the wiper cowl painted gloss black

i have my mirrors painted black. im with super302, i dont think it would look right either

Have u guys seen other colored stangs with the cowl painted? I remember seeing a red one...but i dont have it.

He has the mirrors but not the cowl painted.

Oink has his cowl color matched, I have mine painted charcoal metallic. I don't really like the color matched look, but I think gloss black would look good on a black car.

I just cleaned it up real good, then went over it with a scotch bright pad(I think thats what it's called). I put on a thin layer of primer, then about 2 or 3 coats each of paint and clear. All with a spray can, of course. I painted dad's cowl(and stripes) the same color, except with automotive paint and a spray gun.

I have a black cowl and mirrors. What was stock? I have seen many color coded mirrors, but what about the cowl?

I have my mirrors done but no way I'd do the cowl. On a black car there has to be something to break up the sea of gloss black. Keeping it shined is as far as I'd go.

I have painted my cowl forest green same with my mirrors. I don't have any good pics yet. I will post some up tonight or tomorrow.

they ALL were flat black, the only mustangs that came with color-coded mirrors from the factory are the 03/04 cobras and 94+ (?) saleens

he is talking about painting the wiper cowl and mirrors a GLOSS black instead of the stock flat black

Yeah mine are the Blue Ovals, I think his are as well but I can't swear to it.
