Are these actually something you can buy? Or do you just spray paint them with some Fusion? My Forest Green tailights have huge oxidized spots on them and they look like ****. I would guess that you have to paint them, but I could have sworn I saw black bezel covers on ebay or something like that.

There are Saleen bezels out there .... but they're hard to come by nowadays. And yes, you can paint them black. I think they look better that way myself.

Bottom left pic in my sig. Crappy, but you can tell. I used Krylon Fusion .... but I think it'll look better with some clearcoat.

Did you wetsand and buff, or just sprayed on a smooth coat?

I just used a fine grit and lightly sanded them. Then REALLY fine grit. I just got the top layers of paint off so the paint would stick. Masking them up is what sucked.
Can you take the red lenses out, or do you have to mask over them?

Repaint 'em green. Why would you want two mismatched black spots on the rear of your car?

It actually helps break up the amount of green in the back, but doesnt stand out as much as other colors.

You can barely tell its painted black, but it works well with the back top and the license plate..

saleen bezels

i bought em' like 4 yrs ago and they are starting to fade...i've been having to
use the Mothers "back to black"on them, I should of just painted the
factory ones....Those bezels from Saleen are too expensive.!

I just lost on a bid for a set on Ebay WITH 94-95 lights. They sold for $66 for the set, tail lights included! DOH!
OMG THAT IS DIRT CHEAP!!!! It sux to miss adeal like that. :jaw:

The Saleen covers are molded a little smaller in the openings so less of the red lens shows through but just a small amount. It is recognizable if you have them on there opposed to painting them. Painting them looks just as good though and it's cheaper, just make sure you prep good b/c flaking taillights looks terrible. :D

Tell me about it. It ended late and I kept bidding and I missed topping the highest bidder. I didn't really want or need them, but for the price I had to try and get them. Here's the link to the expired ebay listing, at least this way the other people here will be able to see the difference in the saleen and stock pieces:

Ive seen tons of tail light sets sell for under $70 on ebay. you would be amazed what you can find if you really look.

I agree, but not the tail lights AND the saleen bezels as was just mentioned they normally sell for $50 themselves if not more.
