Blackout lenses

My friend Stephen is giving me a set of blackout lenses off his 98 GT, I want to put these on my car but was wondering if anyone has had problems with these and Johnny Law.

I know they aren't street legal, but I have a few friends with the blackouts on their cars...are they just lucky not to get busted? Any feedback appreciated.

I would go with the Black outs. They are illegal in the daytime in certain states. I never got stopped with mine on, and I used to ride up and down the street in front of "The Man". I even had the black outs on the back with no problem. But I live in SC and I usally get pulled for speeding.

I finally removed mine as I was getting sick of being pulled over for them. This is in the Space Coast area (Cocoa Beach/Melbourne side). I was under the impression that they were only illegal in inclement weather and at night. Wrong! I finally looked it up in the traffic code book and sure enough, they're outlawed.

I probably got pulled over for them 6-7 times but never got a ticket. It probably doesn't hurt that I'm military though...
