Its just about time to start upgrading my ignition system but I have a few reservations. First, before I got my stang my buddy had a 90' notch that he had put a MSD Blaster coil 2 into. One of the side effects was that he was getting feedback through his stereo system, It would rev up and down with the engine. This didnt seem to bother him but I found it annoying. I have a pretty nice system im my car and I really dont think I could handle that feedback. Is this something that happens with all aftermarket coils? If so is there a quick fix for it? Second, which order should I start with as far as the ignition system is concerned? Finally is it even worth it with a stock fuel system?

stock TFI ignition is pretty powerful for a stock ignition. i think your stock fuel system runs out of legs before the ignition does.

there are other coils that are more of a compromise.

good luck.

If your components are weak then it is good to upgrade, otherwise the stock system works very well. Your really do not need to upgrade until you get heavy modifications or they break.

I ran a Blaster 3 coil a few year ago and din't have any feedback issues, although MSD does have a inline filter you can run if you have that problem.

usually it's the plug wires that cause rfi interference.i have the msd coil with no noise issues either.

some folks have complained of buzzing with some coils - i think mounting can make a difference (rubber isolators).

Speaking of coils, I just installed an Accel coil, and the thing makes noise. It sounds like speaker noise when you have them turned up real high and hiss. Is this to be expected from a high-voltage coil, or did I get a bad one? Thanks!
