Blizzaks

Winter is coming and I heard the Blizzaks are a great all-around tire that handles snow very well.

Anyone have experience with these tires?

I've had them on my 89 LX 4 cyl, my 99 V6 and currently on my 02 Focus, been great tires! I would definitely recommend them!

Yes, they are an excellent choice. It might sound silly for a two wheel drive car, but get 4 of them for maximum grip. Plus, you can rotate them for increased tire life, season over season.

tires should be replaced when their time is up also, you probably won't get enough wear out of them.

I don't know where you are from, but guys like me and Silvr04GT from Western Canada know a few things about winter!

Without snow tires, I wouldn't drive my GT in the winter (and I don't anyways, it's garaged). The winters down here are nothing short of brutal.

Im from Vancouver, it doesnt snow much, but the last two years brought us alot of snow. I just want to be safe.

If it's above zero you'll burn up the tires REALLY quick. You should really get a set of winter and summer rims and tires.

Also check out Michelin Artic Alpin's. I personally liked them better than the Blizzaks and they are priced similarly. Winter performance was excellent when I needed to drive my car in the snow

I wouldn't drive the winter tires year round - they don't look or perform as well as good summer tires when it's actually summer, and they will wear out quick on dry warm roads. I got a set of 16" wheels off a 94/95 Mustang for the Blizzaks. You can usually buy those wheels cheap - less than $250 CDN, and there are no tears if you do rub a curb or whatever, plus they beat the hell out of black steelies for looks.

If you just drive the car around Vancouver though, I'm not sure I would get too worried. Park it on the one day it snows there every year!
