block to take 600rwhp

im looking to build up a block. what block will take 600rwhp. i know dart will but thats a lot of money. any cheaper blocks good for around that hp? basically what is a good upgrade block from the stocker?

The dart piece is a very good deal. High horespower does not come cheap, especially when expected to be reliable. You may be able to find a motosport Rblock used somewhere. If you are planning on lowering your et... u know what they say about displacement You may also be able to find a mexican block. I have "heard" of outrageous power being made with those, although I do not know anyone who knows anyone who has run over 600 hp with one of these blocks.

i believe the mexican block holds around 700hp. do a search on it, it was discussed a lot not to long ago

in a 302 based motor you would best get the Dart or Ford R302 to handle that power. Don't rely on a 2 bolt main block

almost any EARLY 302 block ( pre-roller) and the early 302 crankshaft ( 2MA) studs and girdle !! It will hold together great!! Mine did/ and does !! ( Bottle fed!!)

A Mexican block will hold up although a DART would be the best money spent, last block you'll need...and your not dumping money into something that WILL break eventually.

I agree, going fast costs money and if you dont want to be paying for all the stuff you've broken because you want instant power that the stock components aren't meant for then by all means use a stock block, but if you want to do it right the first time around go with a race block.
