Blocking out plates in pics??????

This might be a stupid question but why does everyone block out there plates in pics. I do it 2, but only because I saw everyone else do it. Can people look up your plate # & track u down & find where u live?

I never quite understood it either. Its not like its a confidential thing. I'm pretty sure about a thousand people saw my license plate when I last drove my car??

well i know if ppl wanted to be an @ss hole they could call the cops and then give them ur liscense plate num and just make something up about u, i think that could be a reason

Couldn't you go to a parking lot, pick out a honda, and do the same thing?

you cant get in any trouble without the cop witnessing what you do. if that was true i could call the cops on every ******* i didnt like.

I like that vanity plate. & thats another funny thing I noticed is that people block out regular plates, but when they have personalized plates, they dont block them out.

i never block my plates in pictures. i always felt, hey, i drive around everywhere with them in plain site, whats the difference if you see it online??

Block out on-track pics (or remove your plates).
Big Brother insurance could be watching. Or seeing your unreported mods in your sigs. Probably not, but it's possible.

Yeah, I knew I'd get static for that, but I luv'em. Been a fan of them for over 30 years. When the Steelers beat the Seahawks in the Superbowl I took the Steeler plates off my Mach and put them on my Focus. I figured some sore loser Seahawk fan here would go key crazy if they saw it on my Mach.

Mainly so no crazy ass person gets your personal info and comes and jacks/destroys your car.

Aswell as legal issues, if you piss someone off and they go "oh look at what so and so is doing, posting vids of 100mph runs yadda yadda yadda."
