blow-by issues

Hey all, back again. Remember that issue I was having with the smoke coming through the breather that I had on the oil-filler tube? Well it did disappear when I reconfigured everything back to stock specs but now I've got smoke pouring out from the tailpipes every now and again. I took the oil cap off while the car was running and smoke was coming up from it. Turns out it is blow-by. :nonono: Bought a new PCV valve to correct the problem but the problem I'm having is that I can't get that pain of a screen out of the intake to clean it before I put the pcv back in. I've tried what I've thought would work but to no conclusion. Has anyone else ever had this problem with the screen and what can I do to get it out? I really don't want to pull off the lower intake, although I know I probably will in the future. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Remove the rubber gromet if you haven't...Im sure you did but you never know...

I've used a small pair of needle nose to grab one of the tangs on the top of the screen and pulled it up, a small pick sometimes can be used as well to hook the screen. Sometimes they can be a pain.... You can clean it out or pick up a new one at your local parts store.

Yea, I've tried that with a pick and it didn't work and I've tried with the needle nose also. I'll try it again and just play around with it until it gives, I guess. Problem is, when I mention that part(screen) to any parts store, they say that they've never heard of such a thing. What's this world coming to?...:rlaugh:. I also found out today that I have a lifter sticking on me and that's really annoying.. So I guess the car is sittin back in the garage til next spring, again, until the weather warms up again. My garage isn't heated and I'm not tearing apart the top of my engine in this weather. Anyway, thanks for the input.

I think parts store have them under Emissions, listed as emissons filter or screen. Like mentioned I know Autozone has them hanging near the PCV valves, I have the NAPA PT at home as well.

Thanks for the info on the screen guys. I'll have to check out Advance for that screen but as far as anymore work is concerned it'll be a progressive approach. I'm actually getting really tired of working on this car.:nonono:
