I have a stock 89 302 block, i was told that the pistonsi n 89-93 are forged pistons, and i have all new lifters, hardened pushrods, rollerrockers, edelbrock heads, cobra intake, E cam, Will this be strong enough to supercharge? I am not going to charge it in the immediate future, but within the next year of money saving, i beleive that I will - and the block, pistons, rods, and crank only have 20 miles on them... just curious, because i was reading another thread that said if your bottom end is not forged, than you will not be able to safely supercharge it, i was wondering if my set up would be safe... THANKS!!!!!

I think what most folks are referring to when they say "forged bottom end" is the postons and rods. However... I've seen some hyper piston setups running a great deal of boost with no problems. It's all in the tune baby.

You're block will be fine for a blower. A nice S-Trim or Procharger D1SC (or is that P1sc, I forget) would be nice. I'm a bit more partial to twin screw blowers but as I'm sure you're aware... It's all in what you're looking for.

yea i'd def love a ken belle, but i can't becasue i love my polished cobra intake too much, it just looks soo awesome, so i'd def get a vortech or procharger, as long as i know it's safe, how bout a NOVI 1000?? It's 1800 bucks, plus 275 for 36 lb injectors, plus 35 for a 36 lb injector mass air sample tube - nething else i'd need to change?

I'm with him.

If you're gonna tune it yourself you'll also need a programmable ECU and Wideband. As far as the polished intake goes well.....

Choose your weapon! LOL

Don't get a tiny blower. If you're gonna spend the money, get a blower that will give you some room to grow!

I believe that was the cutoff year. Early ones were and later ones were not? I guess it depended on when they ran out of the forged stock.
