Well i was trying to install my new bbk hpipe when i noticed some gunk around the head gaskets.

Its kinda slimy, black looking crap. Its around the bottom side of the head right where the gasket is. Its mainly around #4 and #8. Actually, i does look like a little coolant around #4 too.

I have felpro loc-wire gaskets.

I cant figure what the black crap is. Please gimme some good news.

I may try to take some pics.

Pic added. Sorry for the blurriness. I just wasnt able to position the camera properly.

If you look closely at the bottom of the head, there is alot of "black gooey" crap right where the gasket it. This pic is showing the passenger side head at the rear of the motor. The driver side looks just like the passenger side.

Performed compression test. ALL cylinders where between 145 & 150 psi wich is great i think. This motor has about 130,000 on it and has had boost on it for 7 years.

Valve cover gaskets are NOT leaking.

** I have had cooling issues this year. It runs more consistently and cooler since i replace the fan clutch.

Whats your opinion?

thank you-

Did you USED to have leaky valve cover gaskets? I found that black crap EVERYWHERE on my lower half before I swapped valve cover gaskets.. I still find chunks of that crap every so often hidden.
