Most likely an intake gasket, you won't tell until you tear it down and look. Unless you want to do a pressure test, or an exhaust tester in the coolant. I'm still betting on the intake regardless.
I should have the lower off tomorrow. What will the intake gasket look like if it is blown/bad?
I've already ordered both just in case. I'm also swapping the cam.
You'll know if its bad, you'll see a break/warp around where the coolant ports are if its bad. Did you do a leak down test on the cyls before you went to tear it apart to make sure it wasn't a head gasket? I highly doubt it is, but if it is, that's the way to tell.
I'd leak it first, look at it this way, if you don't and the head gaskets are the problem you'll be tearing those nice new gaskets back off. If you're changing cams anyway you're only head bolts and exhaust bolts away. mike
You may already know this but check the throttle body spacer.I've had the gasket fail on both foxes I've owned. It's all too common. Just ended up bypassing it with a piece of copper tubing.
Well...looks like the intake bolts were loose. I could turn a few of them with my hand so I'm sure the SC was pressurrizing the system.
I also went ahead and changed the HGs anyway since I had gone this far. Got everyting cleaned up and reinstalled the heads. The cam (2031) came in today so I'll get it installed tomorrow and button everything up. They back to the dyno to get her retuned.
