blown headgasket ??

Its hard to say without more info. How did your stepfather determine there was gas in the oil? Was it a lot or just a gas smell? A lot of gas in the oil can be an explosive situation, but I'm not sure how it can get there with an EFI engine. It was fairly easy to do with a carb'd eninge that wouldn't crank or that had bad carb gasket problems.


The classic indicator of blown head gaskets is bubbles in the radiator from leaking compression...of course if your engine is not running that would be hard to do. You should probably do a compression leak down test before you pull the engine.
