BluLightning...exactly what does it do?

I posted another forum about how to remove paint and someone suggested this product (Blu Lightning Automobile Stripping)...So I'm wondering what exactly does it do? Does it just loosen up the paint and then it makes it easier to remove? Or does it wash off the paint somehow or what?

And what all do I need to cover while I'm putting it on?

You posted in this forum.
Aircraft strippers, like Blu Lightning, react with the paint causing it to dissolve and bubble up. Then you scrape it off.

You should remove window moldings, emblems, door handles, locks and anything else that may come in contact with this stuff. I'm not convinced that this is the best method for you.

Who’s going to paint the car?
I'm going to have a company paint it

How much time and money do you have available for this task?
However much it takes

Is the goal "good driver quality" or "show quality"?
Good enough quality to look like a new car, not necesarily show

OK then. I suppose with unlimited time and money, the advice you've gotten so far is good.

I'm doing a similar project (73 Mach), but am not willing to make the time or financial investment of stripping to bare metal. I've wet-sanded (200 grit) the whole car by hand. Welded and primered a new tail-light panel. The whole car will be sprayed with an adhesion promoter, then paint (same color as it is now) and clear coat in my garage. Total paint cost = about $300.
