I was just wondering for those of you who did install their body kits or had the installed what do you recommend fiberglass or urethane? I know each has their issues but what do you recommend and from who did you buy your kits from? I wanna buy a saleen body kit so please post any body that you would buy a kit from again thanks!

urethane is stronger and wont crack as easily. go to www.mrbodykit.com for a cheaper replica of the saleen kits, but if I were you id just try to find a real saleen one.

theres alot of saleen replica body kits on ebay for 300 bucks plus shipping... i dont what the deal with these hey claim to be fiber glass and the price looks like a danm good one cause saleen original is 1200... unless any knows why not to get these kits instead of the one from saleen id get one from there, i mean u save close to 800 bucks

yeah and it prob fits like $hit. Just b/c its a replica dosent mean its exactly like the orginial.

You get what you pay for, if its cheap its cheap for a reason.

I currently have a thread on here regarding my Stalker bumper from Cervinis, just the bumper was $399 + $99 shipping , yes makes you want to throw up in your mouth just a little but I'll know I'll have 0 issues w/ a proper fit w/ it comming from cervinis

Cervini's will empty your pocket but they'll fill your need for sanity when installing the parts....my brother bought a ram air hood from them for his camaro, fit perfectly, the thing is mint...I really want the Stalker Rear Bumper...it's incredible and suits our cars perfectly

I don't care about the diff between fiberglass and urethane really, my intentions don't include hitting a curb or small animal on the road, and if it does happen, that's why insurance rocks...

i bought my "heat extractor" hood from stangparts.com which looks exactly like the saleen but 400 dollars cheaper...and i dont see how the saleen could be any better(this is lighter and feels much stronger than stock), what im trying to say is that just because its alot more money its not nessarly better, just look around, look at what material its made of, buy from a place that u know people have bought from and are happy like cervinis.com, mrbodykits, bodykits.com im sure theres tons others...
as for "u get what u pay for" and "its cheap for a reason" not true... maybe in some cases...

no its not 100% true all the time but its a good rule to follow, you dont always have to buy from the factory to get great quality but more times then not if there is a product that is alot cheaper then the orginial then most likly it does not have the same quality of work going into it, especially some from Ebay.

I believe that striped is right its just that I have heard the actual saleen body kits need alot of work thats why I was looking for an alternative. I definately wont buy fiberglass body parts from ebay bc I did tat once and I think I probably coulda made the part myself thats how bad it was so if any of you guys that had any good luck meaning minimal amount of work please let me know thanks for all your input so far so please keep it coming

Spend the extra $$ on Urethane...If you bump the fiberglass, the bumper is ruined. A light bump to the urethane results in repainting only.

Striped has the right idea..... I tried saving money on a replica saleen wing, thing a) didn't fit stock holes, (b) was cracked and chipped beyond repair (which they made me file a claim against UPS and buy another which it clearly wasn't UPS that damaged the POS as the box was in perfect condition). After getting my money back from these fools weeks later, the part finally came off B/O from Saleen, and ya know what, their product was better, but not flawless (and twice the price!). Luckily, the tips were the part all chipped up and I was making my own out of aluminum plate.

Now Cervini's, they were a pleasure to work with! Their stuff isn't the cheapest, but the body kit spent virtually no time in the body shop being prepped! Fit like a charm. If the body shop spends 8 hours trying to fit up your kit instead of an hour or two, where exactly did you save any money?!

Steve what parts did you get from cervini's? What was involved in the prep process? Im currently trying to find the easyest way to prep my stalker bumper w/ out it costing me a ton to get it done by the body shop, or to give them a better/quicker and cheaper way to do it.

Definitely get urethane, thats what the stock bumper is. It is much more flexible than fiberglass and is easier to work with. Make sure its made in america too, because overseas urethane is stiff and tends to cause paint cracks since it doesnt flex at all.

Just offering another opinion on fiberglass vs. urethane....my Cervini Stalker front bumper has been in four accidents and survived (except for paint) over the last several years. That fiberglass can be one tough mother......but heavy.

Guess I'll ask you too, What was involved in your paint prep process for your bumper, did you do it or did the body shop do you know what was involved to do it? How long have you had the bumper for?
