Hello, I was wondering if anyone has installed a bolt on hood scoop on their car. I was wondering how they look because a bolt on hood scoop is cheaper then buying a fiberglass hood with the scoop on it and I figure i'll start with the cheaper choice first since my hood is in great condition already. I have a '66 so if anyone has any input or pics that would be great.
thanks

I have installed one on my 66 and have been very happy with it. I assume you are talking about a period correct Shelby style? I dont have my camera today or I'd send you some pics but its a very straight forward install and totally changes the look of the car. I am about to have body work done and am trying what to do about it and the shelby side scoops.

I used a bolt on scoop just like shakin's. Bolted it on, bonded it down and reinforced it with extra epoxcy(sp) on the inside.

The paint still cracked in the front corners......

Mines bolt on too.

I cut out the hood out under the scoop too so it would actually work. One bad side to this, when you wash your car it gets the motor dirty...

I only bolted mine down & never bonded it. That is true about the engine getting wet everytime you wash it though....
