i just had my exhaust done at a local shop for $500.00. that was 2 1/2 from the collector, x-pipe, dynomaxes and tips. that's another option to consider.
ya that's about how much the magnaflow kit is. X pipe, 2.5"....I don't want my exaust to be worth more than my car though ;) :rlaugh:

How'd the open header thing work out? Everyone look at you funny. I'm going to have to do the same thing with my AOD swap as the h-pipe wont clear the pan. Yikes! With my luck, the whole PD will be chasing me like they were chasing OJ!

Actually Magnaflow sells a universal X pipe seperately as well......

Call 1-800-990-0905 and ask for the part number....

I have the full Magnaflow kit on my 66 and my 67 and on my 66 (small block) it is the best sounding exhaust I have ever heard-

I think it sounds better then the big block in the 67

i drove my car for about 1 month with open headers (and no hood). it was weird, i couldnt get anyone to race me. :D

summit and jegs both make universal kits, also laurelmountain mustang sells a new x pipe for use with tri y's, dont know if you have them or not. personally i wouldnt do any of that. i took my open headers :) my 2 old school 2 chamber flowmasters , and went to a local exhaust guy. he made a custom 2.5 inch system with dumps that is a work of art. much better than any system on the market, and the little 289 sounds awesome. by far the best looking thing on the car. cost me 100 dollars plus the cost of the mufflers! (ebay 90 dollars for both brand new)
