Bolt size to put a stock block on an engine stand?

Getting ready to pull the engine out. What size bolts do I need to put the block on an engine stand?

7/16"-14 I believe. Same as head bolts. I use old arp ehad bolts and a bunch of washer to take up the slack b/c they're too long.

i took my bellhousing -> block bolts to lowes and got some grade 8 bolts that were the right length.

Ah, good idea.... time to do some measuring. I don't plan to remove the heads, so I'll need those head bolts Grn92LX right where they are.

I just got the bolts to mount my old block, and they are 7/16 NC. Length depends on the stand, but iirc mine are 2 1/2"

i used 7/16 inch coarse thread grade 8 bolts....

....can someone tell me why neither lows nor home depot carries 7/16 inch bolts?
