on a boosted car boost and fuel pressure are must haves. If someone tells you different they don't like you very much. oil pressure is important but it is not related to supercharging a car.

now oil pressure, water temp and stuff like that are nice to add since the actual gauges in the care are really glorified idiot lights but it starts to get clutered and expensive.

you could also consider a wideband 02 guage.

the truely paranoid person with a supercharger would run wideband 02, fuel pressure, boost. that way any parameter than can truely hurt you is monitored.

I have not decided if I will invest in a wideband 02 or just do the fuel and boost.

one thing to consider if you are anal about looks is the electric gauges usually have a different sweep than mechanical so if you missmatch them they will look a bit different. I will most likely run both electrical just because I am OCD about details and want the same gauges looks wise.

One thing still bothers me with all the gauges. I already understand the need of them and don't discuss the reasons at all. I will without any doubt get boost, fuel, oil pressure if I ever get a power adder.

Now my question is what if under boost, your fuel gauge shows no pressure which would lend to BOOM. What can you do after seeing this blasting down the 1/4 mile at 5000 rpm, I mean can you really save the engine.

5000 rpm is roughly 80 revs per second how can it do any good, I'm not trying to be an arse, I just want to be educated on gauges.

By then, probably not. Now if you noticed that your pressure was spiking up and down, real low, really high, or none at all prior to blasting down the 1/4 mile, it's already paid for itself.

IMO, it's more of a preventative measure if you glance at it before you mash the pedal down and get jiggy with it........

Okay, so fuel and boost it is!

Firemanz, how do you like your SQ? That's the blower I'm getting. When does the boost really kick in? 3,500?

I love it! It kicks in around 4k and pulls really hard to about 6k. I have a super conservative tune and I'm happy with the power that I'm making.

You've heard the saying. Slower than some, faster than most......

It suits my needs and helps me get out any stress I have when I'm banging gears after a long day at the station or listening to the wife nag about petty chit all day, lol.....

Dang, only pulls 4-6k? Seems like a short time to be in boost.

I guess that's good for a daily driver though. Stays outta booooost!

Well, it pulls throughout the rpms but it REALLY pulls around 4k-6k. That's when it pins you back into your seat.

Here's my dynosheet from when it was tuned a couple of years back. I can't find the most recent one for some reason but here you can see the powerband pretty well.
