Boost Question

I am currently saving up for a supercharger (still not sure which) and was wondering how much boost my stock 96 Cobra block can take before the big BOOM! Since this is my only car so I also want to make sure I have enough money left over for a rebuild should things go wrong. I have never rebuilt a mod motor before so I figure another 3k or so? At least if I blow it I can finnaly take it apart to fix the damn ticking noise

not sure, they say for gt's over 400 and ur pushing youre luck, so cobras should probably be a little more

How much boost you can handle comes down to how good the tune is. Period.

You can blow a motor on 6 lbs, or even less, if the tune is crap.

Yeah, I know. I was looking for input as to how much others are running on a stock bottom end. The car will be proff. tuned on a dyno when I get the supercharger. I figured since the car wants premium fuel stock it must be fairly high compression I have also heard the car has a strong crank but weak pistons. So with a good tune can the car handle 10-12 psi or not more than 6-8?
