I recently rebuilt my engine. Now I am planing to add a turbo. when I did the rebuild I didn't plan ahead very well for this. I reused my stock crank and rods. my question is. can the stock crank and rods handle 5 psi of boost or, will I be seeing them again real soon? only this time they will be sticking out of the side of the block.

stock block is good to 6psi easy I beleive.

you should be ok with 6psi.. i know guys running 10-13 psi on the stock shortblock with a procharger or vortech... however you typically net more hp per psi thru turbocharging you should still be ok im pushing 6 psi thru a vortech v3...good luck

thanks for the good news guys. I plan on running meth injection along with it also. that should help keep things a little safer.

the block will go before the rods/crank, should be good under 500hp

6lbs is no problem i am running 10lbs with a keene bell
