Ok guys I'm thinking of buying this 95 GT down here and it has a Borla catback on it and I don't really care for the sound.

I'm wondering how it compares to Magnaflow HP and TQ wise, and also, how much I could get if I decided to sell it off the car to get something else.

Check out the 94-95 FAQ for flow numbers. The Borla mufflers make 0.5 HP and 0.1 TQ more than the Magnaflow. Based on that, anyone who would buy the Borla over the Magnaflow based on performance is an idiot...

As far as how much you could get for it, it probably depends on the condition and how much someone else wants to have a Borla catback. There was one for sale on Corral.net a few days ago for $275+shipping and it was in perfect condition.

I can't tell you how much I like my Magnaflow catback. The tips aren't all weird like the Borla tips are, they look less "exotic" and more like something that belongs on a muscle car...and the Magnaflows completely eliminated the Flowmaster drone that I was so tired of. They also sound great under WOT!

Yeah I wasn't planning on switching just because of the power, I just wanted to make sure first.

My friend Stephen had a Magnaflow on his 95 and it sounded really good. I don't like the way borla sounds. The tips are also really goofy on this one because it has like a 3 inch section of the tip that is about 4 inches in diameter going back to what looks like a 2.5 pipe.....weird and ugly

Yup I totally agree...I like the Magnaflow and SLP tips a lot better. Hell, I like the stock GT tips better than the Borla ones! But to each his own; if anyone has the Borla and likes it then that's great. If we all had the same tips it would be boring anyway.

Yeah, you hit the nail on the head zero, what kills the Borla tips is the drastic change in pipe size and that it's extremly visible. It's pretty ugly to me. Wouldn't be a big deal on a 99-04 where the valance would mask it.

Zero, for a catback that appears to be in pretty good (not perfect shape) do you think that $200 would be a good price?

Yea, the Borla tips are kind of funny looking. Although, the tips that came on the Saleens looked pretty cool. Anybody have pics of that?
