I would like some input from my fellow stangnet members. I'm kinda torn between which catback to go with on my 97 gt. I stuck between the borla catback or either the bassani bx. What do you guys think?

Well bassani is cheaper than borla. I figure that I can't go wrong with either one of them compared to what I have now which is flows.

bassani has a more throaty tone to it
borla has then nice smooth snap to it.

so, i dunno, its what your looking for, but from my point of view, i dont consider my own car "that" fast, so, i dont like to have all this noise without too much go.

I'd definitely go for Bassani. It's such an commanding tone, especially on a Cobra

Borla's were a bit too quiet for me. I was completely unsold when I read an interview with Alex Borla in which he mentioned that he went for a tone that wasn't "obnoxious."

i have a bassani and i absolutely love it. if your looking for a new exhaust and you want it to roar, go with the bassani, if you want a better exhaust w/o the amazing sound, go borla.

have you considered magnaflow? i have heard just about every catback, x-pipe combo there is i think, and nothing sounded as good to me as a magnaflow catback and bassani x-pipe. nice quiet rumble at idle and then it just explodes when you open it up! it is also what i am running and i get compliments all the time. it's totally a personal decision though. see if you cant find some different combos to hear for yourself.

I had a Bassani X pipe and didn't like the sound quality compared to the MRT-H pipe I swapped it with.

If it were me, I'd get some Borla Stingers. They sound like sex on all the guys who run them on their cobras up by me

I'll probably go with bassani. Don't like magnaflows at all something about them just doesn't appeal to me.

my car has the stock saleen borla catback, so i dunno if its different than what ur lookin at. but as much as i love the mellow yet more exotic sound of it, i'd like something louder.

waiting to see what it sounds like with an o/r h
right now i'm still rockin 6 cats

Depends on what mid-pipe you have.

You should to hear the Borla Stingers on my Cobra. It scares little children, animals, and old ppl.

IMO Borla Stingers > Bassani > regular Borla

And if Stingers are too loud for some, Bassani would be the better option for them.

Borla is my choice. All the Bassanis I heard were obnoxious and raspy. The Borla stingers are nice but too load IMO. I like the regular Borlas deep tone and how quiet they are at idle. I have long tubes and an off road h-pipe so the regulars would prolly sound great. Unfortunatly I have flowbastards now. The dont drone toooooo bad

Ultimatly ya just gotta go with the sound you like best thats within your budget

But between your two, Bassani by a longshot. If I ever get tired of my SLPs, I'm going with Bassani.

Oh I failed to mention, I WOULDN'T use Stingers with an O/R mid pipe and/or longtubes. Mine's loud enough, and it has a catted Bassani X-pipe and stock headers.
