So what's the scoop? Is there going to be an "in between" model or what?

There have been talks of a Boss, but nothing really concrete, sorry.

A Bullitt is expected to be produced for the 40th anniversary of the movie. But, it is unknown if the Bullitt will be the new Mach 1, or if it will just be a special edition GT, while a Boss, Mach, GT350, ect fills the middle slot. Anyway, everyone you talk to at Ford in the know says they are definately coming out with something, but you have to wait (at a minimum) until after the GT500 Vert is released. So don't expect it any sooner than 2007 as a 2008 model.

If you want the Boss package go here: http://www.shinodaperformance.com/index.html

Jim is located here in Pensacola, FL and is making amazing Shinoda Mustangs. He has done the work on my car so far (springs, shifter) and is very helpful when it comes to everything for this car. I have been thinking about going with a Silver Boss sticker package and a few other goodies.

I'd walk 1,000 miles just to be on the list if Henry produced a Mach 1 like the photo shopped GT at CreatingTheLie.com. The Shelby front end with a Mach 1 shaker is just unbelievably captivating.

I'd love to see a BOSS model - just a basic stripped down GT with performance enhancements to the max!!

That is what I want to see. A stripped down model that has the sole purpose of inexpensive performance. Kinda like the old LX fox bodies. It would be great if they offered a car with almost the same performance level of the Cobra, without all the fancy stuff, sold at a good price. I'll give up power windows, locks, a/c, leather, chrome interior accents, mycolor, 1000 watt stereo, ect if they would make a solid 350-390hp mustang that weighs under 3,200lbs, all for less than $30,000.

There is a Buillit model in the pipeline for 2008. It will probably arrive in August of 2007 when they refresh the front end for the mid cycle refresh. It will probably only have the GT engine with a small increase in Horsepower. After that, I don't know... Haven't heard anything else.

A 50hp increase would work for me.

I'd like to see a 4.6L stroked to 5.0L and give rebirth to the Boss 302.

You're on the right track, but I think that Ford would with their 5.4L truck engine block.

It sure would be fantastic though wouldn't it?

2009MY is the refresh. Internally I've heard that the 3.5 will be the new base engine and the GT should see some performance increase. There are plans to do some other limited edition runs, hence why only 7200 Cobras are "planned" at this point going forward.

7200 ???

I seem to remember you'd indicated a 10,000 unit run as the "planned" production

and even that's too small!

Months ago the talk internally was only a range up to 10K. I want to say this summer the 7,200 number came up. I haven't seen anything or heard anything else since that number. It's enough. Remember we had to throw cash on the 04 Cobras, we're not doing that this time.

So the bullit will mark the end of this front end... and then after that they will have the refresh. I guess that makes more sence to me. Didn't the last bullit only have 5hp more than the standard GT's? If Ford follows the same, I don't think the new one will have a bunch more horsepower. I can't wait for 2008!

I have heard rummors that after the bullit will be an "LX 5.0" I don't know if it's true but I thought I would spread the good word.
