Bought Springs, have Qs now...

Hey guys, just got a great deal on some FMS B Springs from a guy on here. Thanks dude!

My questions concern whether or not I should upgrade my shocks and struts and if I will need CC plates. My car only has 70k on the ticker so its prime for modding. Can I use Fox shocks and struts? They are a hell of a lot cheaper to buy. Are their benefits to using the Fox shocks and struts? Anyone have any recomendations for shocks and struts for the B springs? I have read up on the how-to and I will be referring to it a lot while doing it. I would like to do this drop within the next couple of weeks.

i heard that the fox struts,shocks lower the car a tad bit more then sn95 parts do.

Anyone else? I know you guys have lowered your cars...Are the B and C springs similar? What works well with C springs?

I have B springs. Love the look but the ride is pretty harsh even on the softest settings on the struts and shocks. I went ahead and got the FMS CC plates just to be safe. You could just do the spring swap and see if you need CC plates to get your alignment in spec. Some people don't need them.

As for struts and shocks I am pretty happy with the Strange Engineering 10 way adjustables. The one problem I have found is that the struts up front rattle and it sounds like something is loose up by the CC plates. After some researching I found out that the strut's piston shaft is smaller in diameter than the spacers and bearing that come with the CC plates. Even with the strut nut tightened with an impact gun the strut shaft can and does rattle within the spacers of the CC plates. Seems the fix is to either wrap some tin tape or even electrical black tape around the shaft to make a closer fit. This problem is known with Maximum Motorsports and FMS CC plates used with Strange Eng. 10way adjustable struts.

The harshness you talk about, is it extremely stiff? I dont mind that but it does concern me a little. Are the C springs any different?

Edit: Do you have any pics of your car with the B spings? I would love to see how it looks before I install them. Thanks...

The C springs are actually a higher (stiffer) rate in the front than the B springs. The rear springs are the same for both. I picked B springs because they are the closest to the stock spring rates. The B springs are also the softest I could find that lower the car. The ride is not really too bad. I just need to get used to it. You will know where the bumps in the road are though

Been busy with moving into a new house so I haven't taken any picks yet. I will take some after the dust settles after the move. I NEED wheel spacers now

I might have a way to get some very lightly used tokico shocks and struts tat were used on a Fox for about 1 month for a good price if I act quickly. Would those work on the SN95?
