Box upper for Victor EFI lower?

A box intake is good for forced induction or very high RPM engines. I didn't see either one in your sig. Is this a future plan?
 
A larger box upper has more plenum volume,so it will make more power.Its just like a large carb,a bigger one most always makes more peak power,even if it seems totally over kill.

Though a 6.8 you say (Is it like a 408-418?) is a large enough motor it could use more plenum volume,but I dont see your heads keeping up.
 
i was under the impression it worked well if ported....and i was going to have the throttle body opening made bigger to 90mm or as close as they can get..but i was just possibly exploring other possibilities before having it done...not sure if having that TB opening enlarged will do much anyway

also thought about switching to the TFS R intake...thought that one flowed better then the victor?? after buying the victor intake i peaked in the box to make sure it was what it was suppose to be and it sat in a closet for awhile till the day i installed it...never looked it over very close before...i should have...i already had the RTV layed down on the block before noticing the ports on the lower intake looked like crap....i guess i could aways take it off and have it ported...

also have seen others with bigger N/A strokers use box uppers and make good numbers
 
How many rpms do you turn currently, what was the cam spec'd out for rpm wise... If you do not want to post the came specs e-mail them do me, I use a lot of Ed' stuff.
 
Here are my thoughts on the box vs long runner intakes.

The large strokers will not be lacking for bottom end power. A long runner intake will enhance the low end, but will limit the peak rpm. I figured there was no need to enhance the low end of a motor that is already going to be a torque monster. Then again I am not taking the car to a track on a regular basis, and if my setup is not optimal, I don't really care. It is a daily driver, that is very fun to drive.

Another reason I stayed with the Comp Cam polymer upper was that it would be easier to shorten the intake. I had the intake machined down a little to provide clearance with the stock hood.

That is my opinion on it

Rick, i dont have a specific RPM really...i think i might of told Ed i didnt want to go over 6K with it...whats your email Rick i have the spec sheet scanned and saved and ill email it to you. mabe you can give me a heads up as to what intake and RPM range the cam likes

havnt progressed that far? oh..haha...you can just find a place that lets you upload your pics then just give people the address..some places wont let you link to the pic but you can post the full address link of the pic and it will work...like i cant make it so the pic of my car actually shows up on stangnet but i can give out a address and people can click on it and it will show

i was just cerious as to what your car looked like i guess....
 
Well with a 6000rpm band I do not think you will pick up much with a box upper on top of the Victor. I would pull the lower and clean it up, if you wanted more plenum volume you could make a spacer to fit between it and your end cap/plate but I really do not feel it is necessary.

Rick in your opinion what could i change with what i have done to the motor to give it some more power...only things iv had on my "to do" list are a 80mm pro m meter and then having the upper intake TB opening enlarged

other then that there isnt much i can do...atleast not without swaping cams and heads etc.
