Brake lights are not working (Including my 3rd brake light)

I have checked and replaced the fuse #33. Fuse #41 is not getting power when the brakes are depressed at all. So the next thing I checked was the feeds for the switch itself and the switch is not getting power at all. So I think the issue is somewhere between the Fuse and the pigtail. I have no idea what if anything is there that could get messed up. Any advise would be great.

The wire that brings power to the brake switch is Green/Red. You say there is no power there but is there power at both sides of fuse 33?

Have you checked the stop light switch behind the brake pedal? I had a similar issue on my Explorer and it turned out to be the switch.

Yup... I tested both sides with a test light and it worked. Then I tested the switch and pulled the connector and tested both leads and got nothing. All tested using the same grounding point for the test light.

Yeah...stop light switch = brake light switch.

Ok now around that brake pedal area there is another switch (brake pressure switch), the connector on that switch should also have a Green/Red wire, does that have power?.

If not you may want to open up the harness a little bit under there because there is a splice near there meaning that wire splits into two. So you'll see a black heat shrink with 3 wires going in (1 going in to the black heat shrink and 2 wires comming out). Test the one wire side to see if you got power there. Actually test all 3.

Both wires are green and red assuming you mean the Green wire w/red strip I will go look and see. And by the other switch your talking about the white switch right?

don't remember exactly what color that switch is but it should also be making contact with the brake pedal.

If there is no power to any of the 3 wires at the splice the problem may be at the 16 pin connector under the dash (driver side). I would check to see if you have power going into and out of the connector at that same colored wire.

Hope this isn't sounding to complicated.

Nothing I should be learning anyways.
Just wish it was cooler today. I'm going to wait tell after dark to check the wires. I need a flashlight to see under there anyways so being dark outside wont matter. Do you have a diagram for under the dash? or anyone else for that matter?

By feed you mean the wires going to the switch? That's what I am assuming. If so, then I meant to check the switch itself by my earlier comment.

I understood and the major problem is I'm not getting in power into or out of the switch. So before I change the switch I need to fix it so that it's getting power.

I have the same problem on my 2001 GT , for anyone that went to Mustang Week this year and attended the Myrtle Beach Speedway fun runs , that was me that hit the inside wall at turn 4.....LOL But ever since hitting the wall my brake lights do not work, they signal , the running lights work , and the emergency lights work but they dont work while hitting the brake pedal , sounds like a switch yet the body shop that repaired my car, replaced the switch with no luck...

Does anyone have any other suggestions ? Other than to stay out the wall..LMAO

Have you "confirmed" fuse F2.18, F2.13, F2.33, F2.41, and F2.35 in the CJB? And by confirmed, I mean more than a passing glance. Pull the fuse and test with an Ohm meter.

Fuse F2.41 offers an easy way to test the brake switch. Pull F2.41 and test for +12 volts on the input side of the fuse. As the brake pedal is pushed, voltage should appear. If not, there is a problem with the brake pedal switch.

If fuse F2.41 is good, then a problem with the multii-function switch should be suspected.

Mine went out a few months back. i had no brake lights. It was my brake switch behind the brake pedal. It kept my car from shifting into gear also. I ended up having to fix it.
