Ok got a 94 gt no brake lights its not the bulbs, also the parking lights work, I dont have an owners manual so I dont know what fuse it is so I checked them all, (I think) still no luck. Any Ideas?
There is a plug that is connected to your brake pedal which is your brake light switch. Take a test light and push the pedal and see if there is current running through it.
When mine went bad, one of the two wires connecting to it was coming loose. I walked to the Ford dealership (yeah, my car would not go into drive) and the guy gave me this part for free so it couldnt POSSIBLY be very expensive if Ford is going to give it to me. Just get a new one and splice the wires.
I know in my F150 I had an alignment done and they bent up the whole switch with the bar that holds the seteering wheel straight. If the switch is similar in design, you adjust it by bending it. You can try pushing on it to see if the lights come on -- if they do it may just need to be tweaked a little.
Like I said, the one in my F150 may have been different, I haven't looked at a Mustang switch really -- though I have another set of pedals in the agarge I can look at. It was really just a mattero f bending the metal plate that contacts the pedal arm to either engage soon or later -- or in my case not at all which was the problem. A little tweaking fixed it right up for me.
Thanks guys I will see if I can Tweek it after I swaped from an Aode to a T-5 I have craze issues. But I did get A manual computer, I was told that was a good idea.
