I have a 65 coupe and have changed the brake light switch. The brake lights are on or just one is on. Is this the turn signal switch? It feels sloppy and needs changed any way. Thoughts?

All you touched was the brake like switch on the pedal? Is it adjusted properly?

Disconnect the electrical connector that plugs into the switch. If there is no change the switch isn't your problem.

Found the problem! The new switch was installed without the proper bushings and washers. BTW, there is no adjustment for the switch on this type setup. If you don't have a shop manual, get one. It will save aa lot of time and guess work.

well there is some adjustment, but it involves a file, when I replaced the rod from the pedal to the master, my brake lights wouldn't turn off, I filed the back end of the rod a bit and it loosened up the connection at the switch allowing it to turn off when releasing the pedal.
