Finished with my coil-over installation this morning at 5 a.m. When I go to back my car out, I pumped the breaks a few times as I know they usually don't catch right away if you have taken the calipers off. Anyway, this time not only do they catch, but they wont disengage. Not super clamped, as I could drive the car, but you could definately feel that the breaks were engaged.

Anyway, I planned to just limp home, thinking they would fix themselves. However I could smell burning breaks, the RF was making a noise, and then my interior lights appeared to dim. Wacky!

So does anyone have any clue WTF happened here? Also, my coil-overs are less than a finger's span from rubbing my rims, will an alignment of my new CC plates fix that, should I get a spacer or is it fine? Thanks all.

 Funny, curious however as to how the coil overs are working out bc im about to buy some for the front. Its just a half inch or so higher then i want it, it would also be nice to have the option to adjust. sucks about the brakes, havnt done much work down there yet but the time will come

Caliper is bad. During normal operation the piston stays within a very short throw range. A ridge can build up there over time. When you compress the piston into the bore that built up ridge is now in there causing interferrence. It is pretty common.

Well fixed it. Damn piston had come too far out and whatever gunk in there kept it from recessing back in. The whole time I was messing with it I was thinking that I should just go with 73mm calipers anyway and ditch the stock junk.
