What rear end will you be using?

You don't want to run fixed calipers in the back if your rear axles are retained by "C" clips. Axles with C-clips tend to have side to side movement. This can cause pad kick back - since the caliper is fixed, if the axle moves outward it forces the pad of the fixed caliper back, the pistons get pushed back into their cylinder boars and you basically loose the rear brakes. You can regain them by pumping the pedal, but it's not a good set up.

If your running an 8" rear, you need to use a single piston floating caliper for your rear brakes. A floating caliper can move with the axle movement.

The Ford 9" does not use a C-clip, so a 4-piston fixed caliper would work, but it is basically overkill for the rear brakes.

I think the front 4 piston calipers on the rear will displace too much volume. You won't find a MC with enough stroke. The rotor diameters look fine. Assuming you put smaller calipers on the rear, I think you will be fine for most situations, but in a panic stop you're probably gonna crash into the guy in front of you because you won't be able to generate enough force to haul your car down from speed. That's exactly why I just swapped out a 1 1/8" to a 1" MC. Maybe your car weighs a lot less than mine though and it won't be an issue. The calipers you mention weigh a ton. Why not use something in aluminum?

I may be, I know the 8.8" uses C-clips to retain the axles. I, also, thought the 8" used C-clips.

any rear end with a removable third member (center carrier and pinion gears) has to use the setup where the axle is bolted in behind the drum.... like the 9"... the 8.8" is an Integeral rear end which use c clip retainer like the 10 and 12 bolt gm axles and have the removable carrier cover
