brenspeed or bama chips?

i went with bamachips after hearing how much darkfire liked Doug's tunes. plus i live only an hour away from Jasper so bamachips is close enough that i could get a custom dynotune from Doug in the future. that, nasty, is why i chose them over VMP or Brenspeed.

how different are these tunes from bamachips or brenspeed , i guess i have the canned 93 octane tune that comes with the sct2 tuner , and mines an auto and i chirp 2nd and 3rd gear and with other mods i ran a 12.9, can there tunes do better ????? if so id love to get them

Tomorrow (Friday the 13th *creepy music playing*).. I'm getting a new pulley and Intake installed. The important thing is, Doug from Bamachips will be tuning the car personally at DynoJoes. I'm super excited; I want the best for my car. (will post YouTube vid Saturday of Dyno)

yeah, if you buy the tuner from Brenspeed they'll give you a free re-tune for any part you buy from them (aside from power adders and cams). I didn't know bamachips did that.

Just one free tune or 3 different tune files? I'm thinking about ordering bbk long tubes from brenspeed. But I don't want to have to pay for another 3 tune files.

I've been reading this whole post and saw that some of you recommended VMP....seems like the guy isn't all that interested in you going to his shop to buy things, he places an emphasis on not just showing up to buy things.

"VMP HAS MOVED!, however, we are still in the same general area, if you wish to come in, contact us to make an appointment.'"

He wants an appt. made...LMAO, what is he a doctor? I wish I could run my business that way....

...I figured that since his shop is close that Id go buy a tuner from him and ask a few questions before I dropped 400.00 bucks....but it seems as though he just wants me to drop 400.00 bucks online, and not be bothered with me stopping by at my leisure to buy it in person, unless of course I make an appointment.

....Has anyone actually dealt with this guy? Is he a dick? Is he just too busy to be bothered?

VMP doesn't really sell all that much stuff. The website lists everything he does sell though. It's not like he's got a store front, he makes business from tuning and not from products. Dyno tuning is by appointment,w hat did you expect? It's not a policy that only VMP Tuning holds, the same is true for any decent tuner in the country. Justin is the owner and tuner of VMP Tuning. So he's got to be the one answering the phones, answering questions, and tuning cars. Since it's not really a store front that specializes in selling products, I'm sure he doesn't want people showing up to buy things while he's tuning a twin turbo car and has to stop to run the person's card, etc. The person who's car is being tuned isn't going to be too happy when a 2 hour tune takes 4 hours because of people coming in and out.

I'm sure he answered your questions and just asked for you to place the order online. This way he's got a record of the order and there can be no misconception about what your requests were and the order. I'd do the same, too. Plenty of us have dealt with him and have all had good results. If there was ever a problem, VMP Tuning took care of it.

OK....

I see what you are saying. I guess Im just old school. I like to talk to someone I do business with face to face.

I wasn't looking for an appt. for a dyno....

I have no idea what I may or may not want or need, that's why i want to talk to him.

The way I read it is that I can not just stop in, ask some basic questions and buy what he recommends unless i make an appt., is that right?

I like being able to take my time, ask questions.....not feel rushed....

I have no idea what any of this computer stuff is and I wanted to be walked thru it all by the guy selling me the product.

I didn't ask him any questions because I didn't go see him yet.

I was hoping to sneak off from work whenever I got a chance and swing down and speak with VMP, since I work everyday but Sunday....

The impersonal online commerce isn't my style.

I like to meet people, see if they are good people, if so, give them my business, and I don't buy from people that I don't like.
