Keep the system functional. A tune is required to properly delete the EGR. EGR pumps inert gas into the cylinders during part throttle cruising to reduce fuel consumption. At WOT it's completly turned off and doesn't use ANY HP. No benefit to removing it.

To repair the line, get a peice of heat shrink hose that slips over the two broken ends and shrink it in place.
