Went to the local drag strip Friday night to watch another Terminator owner run his car for the first time. I had no plans on running my car but once I got there I decided to fill out a tech card and just "blow the carbon out".

Well right when I made the 2-3 shift on my first pass of the evening the gas pedal broke and got wedged between my foot and the carpet/accelerator/transmission hump.

Wonder if this would be covered under warranty? Wonder what a new gas pedal costs?

Technically, it should be replaced via warranty (have read more than one story about people breaking their accelerator pedals).

However, may want to consider the pedal kit below:

http://www.karkraft.com/99-02_mustang.htm

Bullitt 4 pc. Pedal set

Fits 1994-2004 Mustangs

w/manual Trans. #KK2002M

$89.95 set of 4 with gas pedal shaft & bracket

*Forget the hammer and carpenter tools!! Install our pedals

like the factory does with the brackets and shaft!

That looks identical to stock 03/04 pedals?

**EDIT** I just called my "friend" in the parts dept. and a new pedal/arm assembly is only $23. I just went ahead and ordered one from him. I don't want to take the car in to my local dealer in an attempt to get it replaced under warranty. I'd have to remove my drag radials and possible subject the car to a potential flogging by service personnel...

Yeah, those were the Bullitt pedals - not the OE 03/04 cobra pedals (figured they would look nice ).

Glad you found a new pedal/arm assembly. Taking the car into the dealership to get that replaced under warranty probably would have been a PITA...

I guess the Bullitt and the 03/04 Cobra share the same pedals. Because my stock pedals are identical to those Bullitt ones.

Can we call you old Lead foot? ROFL!
I had mine stick once before I removed all that nasty carpet stuff from the car. Where did it break? I am looking at making a new one like the GTR concept pedal. Our pedals really suck as far as the height. Its very hard to heal toe shift.

Hey U.M. (not sure if this is allowed, if not just delete this) anyway there is a guy on SVTP who runs a Ford parts dept. (is he here as well?) anyway they sell ALL Ford and Ford Racing parts (SVT included) for 10% over cost. I saved about $400.00 when I replaced the side skirts on my Lightning.

Just a heads up.

The plastic tabs on the back of the pedal where it hinges to the shaft via a pivot pin. I can take a pic and post it up if you or someone else would like to see.

Would that happen be Steve at Tousley Ford? That's who I get my stuff from and he too only charges 10% over cost.
