Did someone really say a 4 cyl T5 is stronger than a V8 one, or that they recommended one over a V8 one?

That would be too funny if that really happened!

The sad thing is, this bad information is probably all over this persons town because of him... I have heard tons of "great" stuff over my time hanging with Mustang and car guys. Things that will blow your mind.

nothing can beat the guy that told me....."Adding another distributer will give you more power" He had a 96-98 gt....the ones with 2 coil packs........ he went on to explain how he waxed modded 5.0s all day long because he had "two distributors" HAHAHA....he then proceeded to tell me the car was a 5.0! i just laughed and said, that 5.0 has the biggest V shaped timing chain cover i have ever seen

Don't be a sally and go auto. There's many options to handle power with the 5 spd, even keeping it a t5. I destroyed 3rd in mine a couple months ago, and as bad as it sounded, kinda like you described, that was the only thing wrong inside. I'm sure your tranny is rebuildable. I wanted to upgrade anyway though. I called g-force first, and their customer service sucked so I called Astro. They were extremely helpful, answered every question I had, and really knew their stuff. I talked to Tony, who is the President and I believe the owner. Very nice guy. I got the gear kit, bearings, synchros, and a clutch for around $1600 shipped.

Gears are expensive huh?
I say it cause i got my t-5 rebuilt for $1600 in and out complete and gauranteed for a year also
but it only needed a new main shaft, no gears all bearings syncros ect!
