I have an older Dell running Win98

I know its old and outdated but hey ................
rather put the $$$ toward the Stang

I've been thinking about moving away from Internet Explorer and to Mozilla Firefox.

Do you guys think that would be an OK thing for me to do considering my older OS?

Any ... gotchas from moving to the other browser ya'll can think of that might bite me on the hiney if I do it?

When I tried down doading Mozilla I had problems. It would reconize me filling out forms or feplying to threads. All I would get was "No data found in document" or the like. I read DonJon say good things about Avant web browser, so I down loaded it. I love this browser it has great features, it also works off of IE I highly recommend you trying it. I'm not computer savy and Avant is very easy to use.

I use FF and never have troubles. Until IE gets with it and has more robust features that are customizable, I'll stick with something I can use effectively and isn't a total spam/spyware/malware magnet.

I run firefox and love it...the extensions are awsome and there are a $h!t ton of them. I like how the tab browsing...instead of having a min. max the diff. sites I can just tab threw them and have as many as I want to jump back and forth on.

The pop-up blocker is the best I have seen esp. coming from IE...firefox just shuts its down and gives you a notice on top of the screen that it shut down a popup.

You can also choose a ton of "skins" to change the look of it.

When the US gov says it "rec. firefox for its sup. anti spam/vir./hacking over IE" it cannot be that bad.

I have heard of some people having issues with it at first until things get sorted out but I think thats more with some of the extensions though.

Wow, whoever says IE > Firefox, I don't know what happened with your computers, but FX >>>> IE. Internet explorer is like THE most basic web browser, to say the least. It's security is horrible, one wrong click to a wrong site and your whole computer is infected with spyware. Not to mention firefox's tabbed browsing.

BTW Grady check your email.

OK Guys

I've been using Fire Fox for a couple days now and so far, it works much better than I E.

It has got some pretty cool features and the tabbed pages is much nicer than having several browser windows open at the same time as in I E.

Again, thanks to all who shared info
Merry Christmas to all!

i had firefox, and i dident like it for a couple reasons, and now im back to using IE

It was slower than IE on my computer,
When i would make a post on stangnet, it wouldent show the page after the post was made, it would just sit on "downloading page" for hours, i had to open a new windown.

I toggle between Netscape and Firefox. Both are Mozilla based.
