OK, how many 1996-1997 Budget Saleen owners are out there? Mine is a 1996 Violet Convertible #07B. I just had the car stripped to the bone and re-painted the factory color. I added the side scoops (like the Shelby's), but that is it (wanted to keep it stock). Just wondering how many are out there...

Well, i have bought quite a few things for my car but, near the ned of this year i will hopefully be going back to school full time and the mods will probably stop. So now i would consider it on a budget, i dont plan to buy to many things for it in the next couple of years. I might even sell it, not sure yet.

That's funny! I was actually referring to the 118 Saleens purchased by Budget Rent-a-Car between 1996-1997. They have a "B" designation on the firewall plaque as well as on the bumper number (hence the 07B on my bumper). They are a limited production inside a limited production, which I think is cool. They had certain options (like magnesium wheels, light bar, etc). Liz at Team Saleen seems to think they will eventually be pretty valuable to collectors, like the Hertz cars. We'll see...

BTW - Now that you mention it, my Saleen is definately on a budget as well...lol

Ohh... ok .... well then no i dont have a Budget car in that meaning :rlol: I seen a Saleen for sale on ebay with the B after the number. I had no clue what it ment, thought it was a fake. That is neat to know.

I've tried to stop them, but i can't. There is also a company (like mrbodykit.com or something) that uses pictures of my car. I informed them that they were not welcome to use my pictures. They didnt care. I guess i should be flattered

what's up, i have a 97 budget saleen. red w/black top/black leather/5 speed. i love it. had it since 98, and have alot of compliments and some haters along with it. had 19,000 miles on it when i bought it and now has 38,000. added a few extras, but it's my car , what the heck.
