building gt40p heads...suggestions

i got some rebuild gt40ps....wanted to beef them up a little...gonna get them ported... what else would you guys recommend??? not gonna mill them cus i might go with a sc later on....what do you guys recommend??? what rockers? what brand of valves? etc.? also what cam would be perfect with this as well??? ...thanks

hey i have been reading up on this myself, and i think that i am gonna go with these heads as well. I have read on numerous sites etc. that you can use you existing valvetrain components such as rockers springs etc. on the p's. I for instance would be able to use the 1.7rr i have, along with the crane springs, and all the other stuff i just put into my e7's

should cut the cost some.

DId you buy a set already, if so what did you pay for them, and i have also read that if you port them they respond very well. However depending on what cam you go with they may not need porting because of how they flow. You don't want too much cam for the heads, b/c from what i've read the air velocity could suffer, or maybe that was not enough cam for the port sizes one way or the other anyhow:thumbs up:

p.s. i would do an intake and cam at the same time as the heads, at least the cam the intake isn't such a hard job, but you have to remove all the accessories etc. to install the cam

jason

just a thought

are POWERHEADS very knowledgeable about P heads???? im still trying to find a good shop in socal that knows how to work on p heads
What are you looking to have done to the heads? I know of one particular engine builder out in Cali that may do cylinder head work. Have you bought the heads yet? If not, you could scam a set off eBay and have them drop shipped to many different people who will do anything you would like. Thumper (Mike) will gladly work on P heads. He does top notch work.
