Well, I'm just worried that the stand might get kicked or bumped and you might get hurt. You could drill a hole thru there all the way and get a hitch pin from Atwoods, then you could lock it at 90 degrees either on it's left or right side. Go back a bit and drill a hole at 45 degrees, or whatever is a comfortable height to work on the rocker area while seated.

Thanks for the concern. But I'm going to be working on the car myself and I'm going to ensure I keep anything that might knock the stand out away from it. But there is so much force on the jackstand, I doubt anything will knock it out. But it always pays to be safe than sorry.

You can put some ratchet straps on the brackets that hold the car and they will help keep it from rotating.

The last thing my son said to me before he came crying when I told him to be careful and that he was going to get hurt was, "I'll be okay, Dad,"

If there is so much force that the stand can't be knocked out, that's too much. We don't want to be seeing a clip from the Times Record News, "Mustang auto kills owner".

I know you guys are right, so I should make this thing safer now than later. Before I start working on the car, I'll get the thing safed up. When that happens I'll let you know how I did it and put some pics about it on here too. :SNSign:

Thank you. Maybe I'm a bit more concerned since I have kids, I don't know if you do, but I'd hate for my kids to loose their dad because he's an idiot.

Another safety story.... I was cleaning a 12hp Briggs carb up with a can of carb cleaner or brake cleaner, should have been wearing my safety goggles but wasn't. Sure enough, sprayed into a crevice that shot it right back into my eye.

I dropped everything and ran to the kitchen to wash my eye out. I remembered in an Industrial Arts class that if you get MEK in your eye, don't even worry about washing it out as you'll be blind in about 5-10 seconds. "Luckily", this only had acetone in it.

So I go into the house to my bathroom to get some lubricating eyedrops. I'm rumaging around in the cabinet over the toilet, squinting, tears rolling out of my eyes to find the bottle where my wife said it would be. Ahhh, a tiny bottle of Bausch & Lomb. I lay on the floor in the bedroom with one hand forcing my eye open and using the other to apply the soothing liquid comfort in this tiny bottle.

.......

.........

.............

Didja know that Bausch & Lomb also makes ear care products? Like swimmers ear stuff with alcohol in it?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
