Built new engine - will not start

i would think you need to prime the fuel pump again. are you getting fuel into the bowls now? if not, re-purge it.....my best guess. good luck.

Not much! If you have not done this before with a carb (especially one that's being difficult) you cannot understimate the danger of gasoline. Consider how much the accelerator pump squirts in there. More than a sprinkle, less than a splash.
When I was still in the service, I read in a safety bulitin about an guy who was off duty doing eactly what you are contemplating. He held the cup of gasoline in his hand while his buddy stried to start the car. It backfired and he was set on fire. He survived. However, it's done all the time. And is an easy fix for stubborn carb motors sometimes. Common sense should prevail.

If it ran once, it should run again. I would consider that its flooded. Hold the gas pedal to the floor while you crank it to get air flowing through to evaporate the excess fuel. This "usually" works. Try this before adding more fuel to the fire. Make sure the plugs are actually dry and not wet with fuel befor tossing gas in the carb.
