Bullets or no??

I am gonna have my car running as soon as I get this damn KC clutch in the mail and I want my car to be more loud and obnoxious, b/c I am a teen and I like pissing off old ppl

So I want some tone, but a little more noise than the shorty headers, o/r h pipe, and 2 chamber flows that everyone and their mom has and cheap to fit the budget. I can probably find most common mufflers cheap local so which ones?

Though it isnt good on the differential fluids, Flowmasters sound wicked blowing free. No tailpipes or dumps. Real bad ass with a cam. Very Very loud

Don't waste your time thinking about it till you get it running. It will not sound the same as a stock 5.0. Non stock cam, better heads= louder

Just grab some, get some $40 intermediates and then some cheap turn downs and clamps from Napa. Clamp them together and throw them on dumped. Should cost a little over $100 maybe and you can always take them off and sell them if need be.

long tubes and 2 chambers with dumps is about as loud as i would go.

ive got an fcam, shorts, h pip, 2 chambers with turn downs tacked on. it sounds healthy, sitting in traffic, or idling through the local car hang out, it lets people know there is a cam in the car, but i dont feel bad leaving my girlfriends at 1:30am, or leaving for work at 6am.

I piss my neighbors off enough as it is, I come home at 2-3 am frequently and leave every week day morning at 6:30 for school. I set off this one van's alarm when they park it in the street, its not my fault tho, parking cars in the street is against the covenant.

Anyway I was just thinkin about it b/c I have down time while I wait for my friggin clutch and trying to think what else to do while it is all apart.

fix the front bumper and 5 lug it really quick..it wont take you that long to do...but bullets will be REALLY loud...my adivise...go with mac flow paths..i heard them on a LX with a TFS topend ( tfs 2 cam though ) and it was godly.

Longtubes, o/r H pipe and dumped bullets are pretty loud. That is the set up that I have on my 88. All my buddy could say after riding behind me was "Holy s**t that is loud."

A turbo is definitely the best muffler out there.


I have a little video for a comparison of regular chambered mufflers vs. bullets. The incar is h/c/i/s-trim, 475rwhp (500+ in video) through shorties, o/r X, and Mac mufflers with tails. The car is borderline obnoxious when by itself and is MUCH louder than any o/r H and Flowmaster car. The '66 in the other lane is h/c/i/novi 1k with small long tubes, and bullets dumped. It's ****ing retarded loud. But badass I would say it's nearly open header loud at wot and a quick crack of the loud pedal will cause heart problems. The title of the vid is clearly wrong. BTW, this is on a closed course with police escort and it's all computer generated anyway.
