Ok I have a 2001 GT and I just installed some H&R Supersport with Bilsteins and I would like to know what would be the best combination, Bullitt 17x9 and 17x10.5 or 18x9 and 18x10. What would be better for occasional drag racing and autocross. I am leaning towards the 17' for performance but I think 18's would look better. So let me know what you guys think, and if you have any pictures please post them. Thanks, Derek

Well if I went 17's I would go 275 40 17 and 315 35 17. If I went 18's I would go 275 35 18 and 295 35 18. So would 17's still handle good. I will do a little more Autocrossing but I will still go to Pacific Raceway to drag and I want something I can pull 1.9-2.0 60ft times. My mustang is also my daily driver so I also think 17's will drive better. But will 17's with those tires look good with my drop. Let me know. Thanks alot, Derek

Heres some pics of some 18's with an Eibach Pro-Kit.

As far as looks go the 17X10.5's will fill the wheel well a little better. I didnt think that extra .5 inch would be as noticable as it is. When I compare mine to others though I can tell the difference. Also with the 18's your car is going to sit a bit higher. Despite this the larger diameter does look really nice to me.

With regards to the difference in performance to be honest I didnt notice a huge difference. There was a difference yes but nothing more than I didnt beat eventually by learning to launch better. I hit a 1.9 60ft the last time at the track.

Dont forget about the economics.

18 nitto DRs = ~$275

17 nitto DRs = ~$180

17x10.5 in the rear with 315s, fills the rear perfectly. I also have Steeda springs for the drop which doesn't visually look as low as I want it, but I'm scraping the flanges on my expensive stainless exhaust pretty frequently if I'm not careful :notnice:

Thanks alot guys, hey I like your Yellow stang. Are those the Steeda sport springs you got on there. How much of a drop did they actually give. I have the Magnaflow Exhaust and was wanting the H&R supersport that are suppose to be 1.75front and 1.6rear and do you thing I would be alright with those springs. Thanks for all the help. Derek

Hey V Eight what type of tires are you running and how much they cost. I have been leaning towards 17's just because 18in tires cost alot. Also guys what do you guys think of the Cobra R rims. I am debating Chrome Cobra R's or Bullit replicas. Thanks, Derek
