I say forget the horse. But that's just me

If you want to keep the horse. get some masking tape and carefully tape the horse off. Might be a little tricky so you will have to take your time. Then paint the caliper and peel the tape off.

I'd mask the pony off and use a fine tipped knife (exacto) to cut around it. While you're at it, throw some paint on the caliper bracket. I just did mine 'cause that black was starting to fade and looked like a$$...

BTW, you will need to sand the current paint for whatever your new paint is to stick to. I personally used G2 from Tire Rack. If you look at the pic, the caliper is the original Bullitt paint and the bracket is the G2...VERY close match.

thanks for the help guys, did you pull the caliper off the car to do this or did you just mask everything?

I did mine off the car. The pads make things a little tricky trying to paint inside the bores

I wish I wouldve just left my Mach 1 calipers the way they where stock. The painting I did came out ok, but it started chipping pretty fast. I think I will just have to buy the 4 piston Brembo kit now instead , or remove them & get them powdercoated.

I had mine off to do pads and rotors anyway. Since you're painting over powder coating and should sand them down I would definately take them off so you don't miss a spot or 2 that might turn up later down the road.

Bullitt calipers are not powdercoated, they are only painted from the factory
