What would it take to add a bullitt intake to my 2000 gt? How much power would it add? Is this a hard install? How much power would it add to a stock gt? If anyone with a bullitt intake could respond that would be great.

not sure on install but I would ask around if it's any harder to install on a 99-00 as oppose to 01-04 gt's.

I saw one performance shop installing it on a 99gt and they were telling me something about a custom piping or something...dont' remember really though. just look into and make sure it fits right for your model.

Well it will take $1100-1500 bones depending on the deal you get. the hp gain on a stock car is fairly mild. say 5 to 7hp. I woud only recomend this mod if you plan on building the piss out of your car. I think this mod is one of the last that should be done because it is spendy and the hp gain is not as good as other mods. example heaswap has around the same cost but yeilds more power. now if you had cams and heads on your car you may get 15hp+ out of this intake. then it becoms more of an appealing mod.

The actual install is pretty straightforward, for me the tough part was gathering all the parts I needed before I began the swap. Mustang92 (Bill Putnam) has a great Bullitt intake install write up on his website.

On the 1999-2000's the valve covers have a passenger side oil fill, and they don't make cam covers with a driver side oil fill with the Windsor cam cover bolt pattern. So you'll have the custom make an air inlet or cut down the oil fill tube.

To me the intake was worth it, it makes power and broadens the power band by a good bit and looks really good under the hood especially with those Team Breed aluminum cam covers I installed at the same time. The Bullitt also gives you growing room, it will make more power as the power climbs, can be ported/Extrude honed, can run a big oval TB, is aluminum and won't crack with nitrous/high boost/age, etc...

It's better than a upper plenum/TB, but it also costs WAY more. If you have big plans for your car down the road get the Bullitt intake, if you just want a good bolt on get a plenum/TB and spend the $900 or so you save on something else. Just MHO...

From what I have read in tech articles, it doesn't add much to a stock motor, but with forced induction the gains are AWESOME!!!!!

I got my intake before there really was a choice.. The only other one at the time that i know of was the Reichard Racing one, but it was still in testing. It looked to aggressive for my goals for my car. Plus the price at the time was said to be like $1500 so i was like "uh NO"

I like my Bullitt intake.. It looks great under the hood
No i didnt see the performance boost that i thought i was going to get.. my baseline REALLY p!$$ed me off 235 rwhp 256 rwtq and with all the mods you see besides the magnapacks 244 rwhp 275 rwtq.. WOW hun.. like $2000 and i got 9 rwhp and 19 rwtq .....joy, But im still need to work on the setup.. The intake LOVES air so if you have or are going to get a charger.. go for it

I paid 1200 for the intake, alternator, fuel rails, hoses, cables, zip-ties... averything but the valve covers which i just cut the oil filler down.. Now from what i know you dont have to replace all those parts for the other intakes out there.. think about what you paying for.. your not just buying a intake if you get the bullitt

If i had to do it all over again NOW.. with the C&L, Accufab, Dragon, RR, Bullitt..
i still prolly would go with the Bullitt.. IM NOT TELLING YOU TO GET IT.. just giving you my opinion. Either way you go, you wont really be going the wrong way.. Just think of the future..

Hope that help some..
Matt

I got my car back from ford today !!! It still doesnt feel right.. but i give up
so im just going to shove a vortech down her throat and see how she does..
