Bullitt pedal cover install on 98 gt??

How do these pedal covers go on? It seems they need to be heated with a heat gun in order to stretch them over the existing pedals.

Any tips on how to make this an easier install will be appreciated lol.

But my guess is just time and patience and a thin screwdriver.

I let them sit in VERY hot water for about 5 minutes to soften the rubber then applied some dish soap as lube. Use a small mirror to hold behind the peddle to ensure that you slid it competely on. Its a PITA but these tips should save you a few curse words

Same instructions, though I found the hot water idea, which sounded good in theory, didn't really work. But it's worth a try. You need to clean & lube the metal pads to more easily allow the covers to slip around - I used WD-40 for both cleaning and lubing. Hook the pad on at one corner of the pad and work it around the rest of the pad with a small thin screwdriver and a small mirror to see what you accomplished. It is a PITA, but the look and feel is definately worth it - nothing else even comes close.

Hot water and soap worked for me. Took a long time though!

And another note. When you get to the accel pedal...dont be a jackass and break your 17 dollar pedal trying to get that crappy bolt( if you can even call it that) back in. Go to lowes and buy a lock nut and a new long bolt. I promise you this will save you many headaches. Use a punch to get out the pin at first, but DO NOT beat it back it, this may cause you to break your pedal...Good luck, and yes the other pedals just take a lot of time and cursing to get on.

Agreed with MadMatt - the pedal is easily destroyed if you try to force it. The friggin pin is a PITA, and I did get get it back in, but I was just about to head over to the Home Depot and buy a bolt and nut to solve the issue. In the end, just take your time - they are hard to get on, but hey, you don't want them coming loose under your feet do ya? The results are worth it - they look very cool.

Soap is key

I didn't use water at all, I just used warm dish soap, when it dries it is sticky too so no slip all grip. I never put the accelerator pedal on because I got deployed, and the dead pedal I just broke off and snapped the new one in. The look good and are easy to clean though.
